An imposing and decried architectural horror which is the largest casino in Europe but somewhat spoils the magnificent coastline in Lac de Lugano. Originally created during the First World War in 1917, he closed the first time in between the two world war suspected of having been created mainly for Italian espionage in Switzerland. He was reopened in 1933 under the leadership of Benito Mussolini. Then in the second part of the 20th century, the casino has a reputation of a "Italian Las Vegas" which allows the city to prosperous thanks to its casino. More recently, the casino moved to new premises in 2007, those that we see today designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta, which is very criticized for their appearance ! Declared bankrupt in 2018. 492 jobs (in a commune of 1860 residents) were deleted. Bankruptcy is due to too much debt contracted by the casino, a loss of speed concerning new game technologies, and to the fact that almost 50% of its income fuel the public finances of the municipality of Campione. After this bankruptcy, Mario Botta states that having designed this building without thinking about a different use of a casino was a mistake ... Finally, the casino was reopened to the public in 2022.

It's nice experience for us as for the first time I come here they gave us 10 euro bunos then I let it played that bunos and we are lucky because we win both not much big but we got fun and have a great weekend here

I came to play poker tournament. It was dissapointing. The building looks eerie and rundown. There wasn’t enough staff. They speak little English. The tournament organization was poor—lots of delays, and the halls were scattered across different floors. The floors weren’t well connected because some elevators weren’t working. I felt like I was playing in a warehouse. For casino registration, they require a fingerprint, which is outrageous. I won’t be coming back, and many other players share the same opinion.
