Poker room is no good. Ran a tournament and the tournament director told people who qualified for day 2 the wrong start time so out of 31 players for day 2, 23 showed up and they ran it anyway not thinking as to why 8 players didn’t show up for day 2 and so was unfair and a advantage to the players who were there to accumulate dead chips. Then when confronted and asked for management to take accountability for an employee mistake they chose not too and have become the slowest casino in Calgary. To OWNER. I already did that and nothing got resolved. You put your customers second behind yourself.

This poker room is a disgrace and getting worse. The chairs are the absolute worst in Calgary—uncomfortable junk that kills your back in minutes. Slot machine noise blasts through the stupid perforated wall, making it impossible to focus. Heating/cooling is a joke: freezing one minute, sauna the next. Dealers are inconsistent at best; the good ones are fleeing because the union protects the weak performers. Let dealers keep their full tips so they actually care about speed and service! The sink area is filthy, washrooms are always broken and disgusting—make them unisex and clean them properly, multiple times a shift. No real tournaments to draw players, bad beat jackpots are too hard to hit, and TVs are tiny, mounted way too high in useless spots. Worst of all, you had Chan (a great female manager who actually listened and fixed things) and squandered her. Hire a competent poker manager with real authority instead of this neglect. Players are bailing to better rooms. Fix the basics or watch your room die. Unacceptable.

I recently visited Pure Casino as a Volunteer for Stars Air Ambulance. I must admit that after eight hours in the cash cage, it was a bit challenging to source where the actual doors to leave the casino were. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be if I was preoccupied as a patron after a lucky win! Overall the staff were friendly and the food at the restaurant was really good. I tried the Vietnamese chicken noodle dish and was able to have leftovers for dinner too. Thank you Stars for everything that you do for people that are in need.

I would never play there again after what happened during the poker tournament. I put many hours of playing poker and earned my way to play in there so call freeroll. I played really well first day and made day 2 in the money round. I asked tournament director (Danielle) who told me start time was 1 pm on Saturday and which in fact started at 12pm. I got there at 12:45 and was 45 min late Not only did it screw me but a bunch of other players by her mistake. I was looking forward to day two and I didn’t have a fair chance. I was told it was posted and given bunch of bs and made to believe it was my fault. No accountability whatsoever. They try and offered me a small gift card but I don’t think it’s enough. I’d rather go take my business elsewhere

Terrible atmosphere, unprofessional management I visited here with a friend for a night out, but it was a deeply uncomfortable experience. The environment was incredibly toxic. We saw several patrons hurling severe profanities at the dealers, yet neither the dealers nor the managers did anything. They just stood there and took the abuse in silence. I couldn't tell if the dealers were just holding it together or if they had become so used to the abuse that they’ve become completely numb to it. Either way, it completely ruined our mood and it was heartbreaking to watch. At another table where they play Chinese-style games, someone was repeatedly slamming pieces onto the table, making a deafening noise, but again, no staff intervened. It felt like a lawless place where rude patrons can do whatever they want without any consequences. I didn't feel safe or entertained. There are much better, more professional casinos in Calgary. I won't be coming back.
