Honestly going to a casino should not be this much of a hassle, when trying to get into the casino we were met with an extremely arrogant and rude security guard. When I first walked in with my partner, I had a valid digital driver’s licence but however I was declined entry due to the lack of effort from this employee . I went through another entrance and showed them my valid id’s and I was accepted entrance. This should not be that difficult. I am extremely dissatisfied as when going in I tried to sign up for the membership card which was compulsory in order to play. I was met with disappointment as I have valid id’s, digital driver’s license, Medicare and a bank card, on me but however was declined. Extremely dissatisfied.

As one of the major venues in the country, there is an expectation of accuracy and transparency in all forms of advertising and presentation. It has come to my attention that a reference to K2 is being presented in a manner that suggests it is located in Nepal. This is factually incorrect, as K2 is located in Pakistan. When I raised this with your team, I was informed that the slot machines are not owned by your organisation. However, this does not fully address the concern. Regardless of ownership, the presence of such content within your venue reflects on your standards and credibility. Allowing inaccurate or misleading representations in a well-regarded venue raises questions about oversight and accountability. It is important that any content made available to patrons is factually correct, especially in a setting that holds a strong public reputation.

Very disappointing experience from start to finish. The website encourages you to sign up to “unlock a private offer,” which clearly implies some form of added value or exclusivity. In reality, after providing your details and completing the process, the price remains exactly the same. There is absolutely no benefit — it simply feels like a way to collect personal information under the impression of something more. That alone is misleading. What made it worse was the response after raising this. Instead of acknowledging the concern or addressing it meaningfully, I was effectively told to find alternative accommodation options. That completely misses the point. This isn’t about the price — it’s about transparency and the overall customer experience. Customers shouldn’t have to go back and forth just to understand what’s actually being offered, nor be directed elsewhere when they question it. Overall, a poor and frustrating experience that reflects badly on how the brand communicates and handles its customers.

8 March 2026. International Women’s Day. My husband and I took my mother and my mother-in-law to lunch in Manly. After lunch we asked them what they’d like to do for the rest of the afternoon. They both squealed like teenagers: “Let’s go to the Star Casino for a punt!” We hadn’t been there in ages, so we thought why not. Big mistake. The moment we walked in it turned into an absolute circus. Let me be clear — every single one of us is well over 50. Yet the first thing we’re hit with is ID checks like we’re a pack of teenagers trying to sneak into a nightclub. Then comes the next absurdity: you can’t even sit down and play the pokies anymore. No, now you need a casino card. And to get that card apparently you must hand over every detail of your life — your ID, your personal information, probably the name of your firstborn and what they ate for breakfast. The four of us spent 30 minutes each with staff trying to get these stupid cards issued. System errors. Rejections. Start again. More errors. More rejections. Over and over again. An hour of our lives gone — standing there like fools — just trying to be allowed to put $20 into a machine. Eventually we gave up and walked out. And just to add insult to injury? $30 parking for the privilege of wasting our afternoon in their bureaucratic nightmare. So congratulations The Star Sydney. If you were trying to make ordinary Australians feel unwelcome, mission accomplished. Now I completely understand why people avoid the place like the plague. Here’s some advice for everyone else: Skip the Star. Go to your local club or pub instead. You’ll be treated like a human being, you can actually sit down and enjoy yourself, and you won’t need to fill out a life history just to play a pokie. The Star clearly isn’t for everyday Australians anymore. They only seem interested in catering to wealthy high-rollers and foreign VIPs. For the rest of us? Don’t bother.

I recently stayed in room 1607, and unfortunately, the accommodation felt quite dated. The drawers where the coffee cups were stored kept sliding open on their own, and the bathroom sink leaked from the top whenever it was turned on, which was inconvenient. The only real positive was the bed — it was very comfortable and made for a good night’s sleep.I also felt that the staff could learn from the Brisbane team, especially in the casino area, when it comes to customer service. A friendlier and more attentive attitude would make a big difference to the overall experience.

They've done an absolutely superb job at ruining what used to be a great place. Much like their share price, the vibe here is nose-diving fast. Totally destroyed. Well done to management for single-handedly wrecking what was once an excellent casino

Great casino. Very large with many machines and tables. I played poker and there was great action on the 2-3 game. They had about 6 tables on a Tuesday night. The chips are bought at the roulette table which is 50 meters away. No problem. Rake is 10% woth 20 AUD limit. High but not too much. Great dealers.

I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by the way I was treated at the roulette table today. The staff immediately assumed I was suspicious, publicly humiliating me in front of other customers. The staff member went straight to checking the cameras with her manager to see when I placed my card on the table. absolutely pathetic, you can easily refuse my service, DO NOT TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH DISRESPECT. Do not assume customers are suspicious. This is my hard-earned money. Treating people like criminals without evidence is unacceptable. Checking camera footage in this manner is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. This venue has shown a complete lack of professionalism and basic respect. I have never experienced such disgraceful service in my life. Making instant assumptions about customers is wrong, unacceptable, and reflects extremely poorly on your staff and management. If anyone wants to go to the star please DONT EVER GO TO THE STAR, NO WONDER WHY IT WAS QUITE.
