Just went for the casino. They need lower limit straight black jack tables.

An elementary question follows, for the continuing dismantlement of standards at the Star, a so called, 5-Star Resort and Casino. Dishwater Cappuccino served to patrons throughout this 5-Star resort, will do much to damage the long term status and international reputation they seek. When using the term dishwater we are implying several things like coffee, prepared like water. This same Cappuccino can severely damage a 5-Star Resort and Casino international reputation leading to negative guest experiences the world over. As The Star Corporation knows quite well, image and trust relies quite heavily on impeccable service. If a company projects luxury to its patrons and yet serves an extremely poor non-barista made Cappuccino of which its clientele can find a superior cup anywhere else, what is the public to think? Why bother to train baristas in the first instance only in order to downgrade your coffee beans to an inferior brand which results in a poor cup of (dishwater) coffee or cappuccino as the case may be. We know that the reputation the Star corporations business, their hopes for the future, and the standards by which they are judged in the public domain are based on quality and service . These attributes can only help, not hinder the Star corporations future aspirations. For example, an international traveler comes in tired, exhausted, and looking for a good cup of barista made cappuccino or a flat white, which the traveler definitely cannot depend on any longer. At the Star 5-star Resort and Casino status hinges on perfection or at least the illusion of it. Unfortunately for The Star Corporation which has had more than its fair share of struggles, as of late, this illusionary practice of serving dishwater instead of a real Barista made quality bean made Cappuccino will never pay dividends in the long term. The real question is what's next for the clientele' vending machines?

Stayed there during Easter and met the most terrible staff in my life. On the day I arrived, there wasn’t a single staff member at the entrance. Me and my daughter pushed two large suitcases into the hotel by ourselves. I saw a sign behind the concierge saying it was the “reception,” but I only saw escalator and didn’t know where the elevator was. I asked the concierge staff where the reception was, and he told me it was upstairs. He didn’t show any concern about helping with my luggage. I told him I already knew it was upstairs, but I still wanted to know where the lift was. He then pointed the way of the lifts to me. Okay, we pushed 2 big luggage ourselves to take the lift. After that, I went to the reception to check in. The receptionist had absolutely no smile. I didn’t feel welcome at all. After completing the check-in process, the room still wasn’t ready. It's reasonable as it's not yet 3pm. They told me to come back later to collect the key, but they also didn’t offer any help with my luggage. When I took the initiative and asked if I could keep my luggage there, she said I could—yet she told me to get it myself and take it back downstairs to the concierge. At that moment, I was truly very upset. Me and my daughter were already pushing two big suitcases with no assistance, and now we had to push them back down to the concierge ourselves. I asked if they could call someone to help me take the luggage back down. Her face was completely blank/very unfriendly—I genuinely have never seen a receptionist with such a bad attitude. She looked like she almost wanted to throw the phone. In the end, she called a staff member to help me bring the luggage down. However, the bellboy’s attitude was very good. On the day of my check-out, when I interacted with the concierge staff again, they were helpful. I just don’t understand how the hotel could allow someone like Jieson—who has such a terrible attitude—to serve guests. Because of her, I will never stay in this hotel again, and I will not recommend it to any of my friends.

This casino use to have the best vibes of all the casinos in Australia and I even preferred it to Vegas. However the last few times the gaming team are horrible, unfriendly, have no vibes, yell instructions instead of educating new punters. Gaming is supposed to fun and a laugh you are definitely not interested in new players losing their money. I witnessed 2 men who did nothing wrong be thrown out as the degenerate regulars asked for them to be removed… this is absolutely disgraceful! The poor men had no chance to reason with your aggressive security staff they requested video evidence but your staff just got more aggressive… i couldn’t believe what I was witnessing.. Absolutely disgraceful Star!! No wonder the Star is on the brink of collapse.

Stayed 4 nights with family during the January school holidays. Overall, a well-designed hotel with great food, but significantly impacted by overcrowding during peak school holiday period. Pros: - Excellent food options, especially breakfast buffet and Mei Wei Dumplings - Attractive, well-designed hotel and pool areas - Friendly staff Cons: -Extremely long wait times for check-in and check-out -Overcrowding across key areas (restaurants, pool) -Lack of supervision in pool area leading to safety concerns Location and facilities are a strong point. The hotel itself is visually appealing, pools are well designed, and the restaurants were a highlight. Breakfast buffet had excellent variety and quality, and Mei Wei Dumplings was a standout. However, the experience was let down by capacity and management during a very busy period. Check-in took around 50 minutes due to long queues, and check-out was similarly slow at 25 minutes. There were also consistent queues for breakfast and dinner, which made simple things feel frustrating. The biggest concern was the pool area. It was overcrowded, and guest behaviour was not monitored by the few lifeguards on duty. My husband was hit in the head by a hard ball being thrown around in a packed pool by guests who showed little regard for the many humans around them. Our 5-year-old daughter was right next to my husband at the time, which made it clear how easily this could have been far worse. With many young children present, this felt like a genuine safety issue rather than just poor etiquette. There was no visible supervision or intervention, which was highly disappointing and concerning. Staff were friendly throughout, but it felt like the hotel was stretched beyond what staffing levels could support. Might consider returning in a quieter period, but peak holiday demand significantly detracted from what should have been a great stay.

Disappointed at the service on level 6 at the pool and bar there (as a Dorset Hotel guest), the man behind the bar looked like he couldn’t care less and wasn’t friendly. I had asked for an ice latte with skim milk and he said they only had almond or soy… it’s something so basic, a 5 star establishment shouldn’t be running out of staples. It’s a shame that one small interaction can taint your experience

Haruka on reception was lovely and super helpful and friendly. Unfortunately to our horror there was blood stains on the doona!!! Housekeeping immediately saw to replacing it but the cleaning staff should have checked it! Unbelievable for this to happen here. The downlights where the towels are in the bathroom did not work. This is not a 5 star establishment by any means. Location is great.

We stayed at The Star Gold Coast for New Year 2026. Even though it was very busy and there was a long line, check-in was quick and we got our room fast. We had a corner room with a nice view. The hotel is a bit old but clean. The balcony had space to sit and relax. The hotel was very busy all the time because of the casino, but I liked the vibe for New Year. We joined the New Year’s Eve masquerade event at the hotel. It was amazing , very memorable, with great food and beautiful fireworks at the end. The only thing I didn’t like was the private pool area. The cafés closed early, it wasn’t very organized, and it wasn’t very clean. We preferred to go to the beach instead. The beach is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Overall, it was a good hotel.🎭

My husband this past Thursday to Saturday surprised me for our 5 year wedding anniversary for a short holiday to celebrate. I'd love to say it was all wonderful but it wasn't. It was very clear that upgrades to the main entrance were happening but there was zero helpful signage to help people who have never been to your venue get there without a hassle especially on a 40 degree day! The actual accommodation was ok, the bed was comfy but the rest was very average, and I am still beyond belief you make guests pay for water. On the second day the water damage to your establishment considering the billions you make was so bad that half the gaming machines went down in your casino for at least an hour. The variety of pokies were as versatile at my local club in a country town. Your cards from your Sydney establishment wasn't giving any of the players points or discounts at the gold coast dispite it saying that all venues are linked. I saw not a single offer of any food for people in the establishment for anyone playing and drinking the whole time. I've never been to a single pub or club who did offer at least nuts at the bare minimum. Your staff were friendly, and is probably what the 2 stars were for. I wouldn't recommend and probably won't be back. Broadbeach offered a bigger variety and paid more in my opinion.

We treated ourselves to a suite to celebrate our anniversary. We are so pleased we did. We got a corner room so the views that went along with that were magnificent. We were also entitled to the executive lounge for drinks and canapes each evening. They were superb! The included breakfast had everything we could ever wish for and the staff have all been helpful and friendly. We'll be back!

came for the poker and had a great time! signing up was easy and basically required. poker dealers are experienced and kept the game (2/5) moving. rake is a bit high, but that’s ok! looks like some really fun poker coming in feb! the rest of the casino looks pretty decent too. can’t wait to come back and check it out on the weekend :D
